Badminton is more than just a sport in Malaysia — it is part of who we are. From watching Rashid Sidek and Jalani Sidek make the nation proud back in the 90s, to witnessing Lee Zii Jia's historic All England title, we Malaysians have badminton in our blood. At a9today, we understand that feeling. That is why our badminton betting platform was built with genuine dedication — not simply tacked on as an extra sport.
When you open the Badminton section on a9today, the first thing you'll notice is just how extensive the match listings are. It's not just the big BWF World Tour Super 1000 events — Super 300 tournaments, national championships, the Commonwealth Games and even the SEA Games are all covered. This means you can bet almost year-round without having to wait for the major tournaments.
One thing many bettors overlook is just how significant the odds difference between platforms can be. A gap that looks small — say 1.85 versus 1.92 — actually adds up to a meaningful difference over the long run. At a9today, we keep our bookmaker margin among the lowest in the Malaysian market. This isn't just a marketing line — you're welcome to check and compare for yourself.
Our odds are updated automatically based on the latest match information — including player injuries, court conditions, head-to-head records, and global market movements. When Lee Zii Jia announces he is not at full fitness before a match, our odds are adjusted within minutes. This ensures you are always making decisions based on the most current and relevant information available.
Many people assume badminton betting is just about picking a winner. At a9today, we offer far more than that. Options include handicap betting — ideal when there is a clear gap in ability between two players — where one side is given a head-start in points. There is also total sets betting (over/under), first set winner betting, and live in-play betting while the match is in progress.
In-play betting is the most thrilling way to wager. Imagine Lee Zii Jia trailing 5-15 in the first set — his outright odds would shoot up dramatically. If you back him to make a comeback, that's your golden window. Betting live while watching a match stream is an experience that's hard to put into words — you really have to try it for yourself on a9today.
The BWF World Tour features some of the most prestigious tournaments in the world. The BWF World Tour Finals, held every December, is the highlight of the annual badminton calendar, and a9today provides full coverage from the group stage all the way through to the final. The Malaysia Open Super 1000 is especially anticipated as it is held on home soil, where the passionate support of Malaysian fans can give local players a significant psychological edge.
The Thomas Cup and Uber Cup are deeply emotional national team competitions. When Malaysia advances to the Thomas Cup final, the whole country rallies together — and you can feel that spirit even more intensely when you have a stake in the outcome. The same goes for the SEA Games, where Malaysia has traditionally fought hard against Indonesia for badminton glory.
The Sudirman Cup, All England Open, French Open Super 750, China Open Super 1000 and Denmark Open Super 750 are all available on a9today. That means you can follow and bet on virtually every major badminton event in the world from a single platform, with no need to jump between sites.
Successful betting takes more than just backing your favourite player. It requires systematic analysis and strong emotional discipline. At a9today, we provide detailed statistics for every player — including head-to-head records, performance on specific court types (indoor vs outdoor, different surfaces), third-set records in deciding games, and six-month performance trends.
Factors such as a packed match schedule, long intercontinental travel and weather conditions can significantly affect a player's performance. A player who has just flown in from a tournament in China and needs to compete within 48 hours in Europe may not be at their best. This information is available on a9today to help you make better-informed decisions rather than simply going with your gut.
Most importantly — set a betting limit you're comfortable with before starting any session. a9today provides budget management tools that let you set daily or weekly limits directly from your account settings. Think of badminton betting as a way to make watching the sport you already love even more exciting — not as a primary source of income.
